Hello everyone,
This morning was spent with my kids looking over various Christmas toy books from different retailers. That gave me the idea to review on of this years "Hottest" Christmas toys
+Disney Infinity. We have been involved with the game since the
+Disney Infinity Summer of Endless Fun Tour in New York City on August 17th and 18th. My children and I were able to demo the game, and speak with it's creators on this special weekend. To be honest, with my back injury the game has become much more than a game; it's become an experience.
+Disney Infinity was officially released on August 18, 2013 and it was something gamers and Disney fans alike were waiting for. Not being a major gamer myself, I was pulled in by the figures themselves. Collectible Disney characters that interact with a video game! It was pretty much just "take my money!" As soon as pre-orders were available in March 2013, I was in. The question is "was it worth the wait?"
To answer my previous question: YES it was! The game has two modes to play in the toy box and play sets. At this moment, the play sets are The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters University, The Lone Ranger, and Toy Story in Space. The play sets are fun adventures set in each distinct and beautiful world. They give you missions to complete and along the way, you collect items you can use in the toy box mode. The play sets make you a character in the movies you love. I cannot wait to see what
+Disney Infinity has in store for us with future play sets.
The
+Disney Infinity Toy Box lets you create your own world! Growing up, I was a fan of the Sim City games and enjoyed building my own city.
+Disney Infinity goes a step further, making your Disney building dreams a reality. Any figure can be used in the toy box, but there are some figures that can only be used in that mode. This gives you the chance to build your own world for these characters. Let your imagination be your guide! You can also download toy boxes created by other fans and play online with other gamers.
Now for an introduction to the
+Disney Infinity power discs. The power discs unlock special items in the game. The discs are sold in blind packs of two, so part of the fun is collecting them all and trading for the ones you still need. Trading sites on Facebook such as The Disney Infinity Trading Post gives you the chance to interact with fans from all over the world. You can make trades and share your
+Disney Infinity experiences and tips. The trading aspect of the game is what made it really stand out in a special way. I was able to help people from all over the United States, even sending a trade at one point to England. Getting involved in a trading community really gives you a great base of knowledge to work with. You learn from one another, and you may even make some friends.
I am not a professional game reviewer, but from my experience,
+Disney Infinity should be the holidays "Hottest Holiday Item." Get ready to fill those stockings up with power discs and figures. Also, every day of Hanukkah can be a
+Disney Infinity Day. This isn't just for kids; adults will love playing the game as well -- once the kids are asleep! Check all of your local retailers for the very best deals on
+Disney Infinity products. Any
+Disney Infinity questions feel free to ask, or join me on Facebook at The Disney Infinity Trading Post.
Have A Magical Saturday,
-EDdie
